Birch craft plywood is an exquisite material suitable for various end-uses. In the mind and hands of the designer craft plywood takes shapes to both every day tools and state of art-design works.
The material requires delicate workmanship, ideally combined with simple, uncluttered designs. This reveals the natural beauty of the birch, particularly when light falls on the surface.
Ultra-thin eg. 0,4 mm plywood panels with outstanding strength to weight and thickness properties are used in most demanding technical end-uses like in aircrafts.
In many instances craft plywood can replace textile or paper. It can also be used in conjunction with many other materials. Craft plywood made by Mahogany is suitable for interior design, sport and music instruments, smart cards, just to give a few examples about different demanding end uses.

Craft plywood is very suitable for the packaging material of gifts. Birch is dense and tight grained and it does not pass odours or flavours to the products.

We have over a hundred years´ experience of working with birch combined with specialized production units, trained personnel and traditional craftsmanship. We use also the most sophisticated production methods and advanced technology.
Our craft plywood is manufactured according to the strictest quality requirements. During testing, special attention is given to strength that plywood can be used in extreme conditions.

QUALITY II
Thin veneer plywood for demanding use, in which the surface remains visible: musical instruments, light fixtures, boats, scale models, furniture, ornaments and so on.

Quality class II
Phenolic resin glue.
Knots permitted: open knots max 10 mm in two rows.
Minimum distance between faults 200 mm.
Defective joints, splits and overlaps are permitted if they comply with the above mentioned location and distance requirements.
QUALITY III
Factory quality classified thin veneer plywood which is suitable for products such as toys, scale models, sports gear, gun stocks, decorations, business gifts and products that are pressed to shape, saddles and casts.

Quality class III
Number of plies according to Germanischer Lloyd standard.
Phenolic resin glue.
Knots permitted: maximum 10 mm open and maximum 15 mm sound l knots 8 pcs/m2.
Sound knots max. 8 mm are permitted to any extent.
On one face are permitted defective joints, splits or overlaps up to the length of 200 mm and to the width of 1 mm.
All the above defects must not be present in one and the same board.

Thin veneer plywood is used for a wide variety of the products:
From furniture, light weight fixtures and other interior products all the way to smart- and postcards and products that are made by using a lot of bending and twisting.
Phenolic resin glue (THICKNESS 0,4-60 MM) or melamine resin glue (THICKNESS 1, 0-60 MM) or polyethylene (THICKNESS 0, 3-0,8 MM).
The most common quality is free from technical and colour faults.
Colour variation permitted.

Permitted faults: some buds, scars, slight curling and streaks.
